Spacebase Startopia is partially accessible for players with fine-motor impairments. As the only neutral Starfleet personnel in the area, it’s the player’s job to construct a suitable space vacation destination to appease the warring alien races. The story is mostly on the backburner this time around but centers around a garbage-loving race of aliens who received a bouquet of flowers and saw it as an insult, leading to a declaration of war. This installment marks the first time the series is available on console and was coincidentally released just a few months shy of the series’ tenth anniversary. Upgrading a fuzzy also partially recharges them.Developed by Realmforge Studios and published by Kalypso Media Digital, Spacebase Startopia is a modern reboot of the beloved Startopia RTS series. Curiously, all fuzzies seem to have distinct names and according to their info section, personality traits.Crate moving fuzzies can move up to four crates at a time.Upgrades to the cargo hold increase the amount of time it take for crates to turn into spoiled goods, as well as increasing the speed of fuzzies carrying crates.Locking several fuzzies in crate mover mode reduces the number of crates getting spoiled on the Bio deck as well as clearing Toxic waste before it can hurt aliens.Fuzzies will automatically repair damaged/ shut down buildings, but buildings can be set as higher priority if required via their menus.Fuzzies cannot combat vermin, for this you will need security drones or to squash them manually.Spoiled crates are not handled by crate mover fuzzies, but by cleaning fuzzies, who can only handle one at a time. For this reason these bins should be placed in many places around you base to reduce the amount of time it take cleaning fuzzies to clear garbage. Cleaning Fuzzies do not take garbage to the recycling station, but the nearest Garbage bot.Increasing the number of Charging Stations is also advisable.Ĭuriously fuzzies can repair temples and Bio stations, which where summoned/grown by your station staff and not build by fuzzies.įuzzies in crate form can be unpacked or re-packed for storage. Level 1,2 and 3 fuzzies can be created or bought.Īs your station expands it is a good idea to get more fuzzies and upgrade existing ones as the initial amount you are given will cope poorly with running even a small station. For example, if you have several level 1 fuzzies and up to level 3 researched, you could pay 25,000 E to upgrade one to level 3.įuzzies can be bought from traders, the VAL store or created in the factory after they have been unlocked as part of the Migrant workers category. Once the upgrades are researched they can be applied to each existing fuzzy via their control panel for an energy cost. While Fuzzies normally automatically switch between building/repairing, cleaning and crate carrying duties they can be locked in a certain role via their menu if needed.įuzzies can be upgraded to level 3, with each upgrade increasing their speed and battery life. This is only a stop gap measure however, charging stations should be placed frequently in easily accessible places to avoid this happening. They are introduced in the Tutorial: Introduction: Construction.įuzzies that lose power can be partially recharged by other Fuzzies if they fail to make it to a charging station in time. Fuzzers require a Charging Station and are builders, cleaners and crate movers on the station. Fuzzy, Fuzzies or "Fuzzer" are the robotic workers in Spacebase Startopia.
